The clove hitch is typically used for fastening some rope to a carabiner. It is commonly used to fasten a climber to an anchor during a multi pitch climb.
- Loop around a carabiner, cross the middle over, and thread the free end under the middle in the opposite direction of the first strand.
The clove hitch is easy to confuse with a munter hitch. Test it before relying on it!
