History of Climbing

History of Climbing

Rock climbing was born out of mountaineering. Some summits have technical rock faces required to reach the summit. This led to techniques and training in other climbing areas. Over the years different styles have developed and the equipment has gotten much better. More styles of climbing spread out from aid and traditional climbing like sport climbing and bouldering. Many old aid routes were free climbed.
