Repetitive stress
Some tips for reducing repetitive stress injuries:
-
Climb with good technique.
- Use your legs and keep your hips close to the wall.
- Move efficiently.
- Straighten your arms.
- Avoid over flexion of wrists.
- Use open hand crimps instead of closed hand crimps.
If you hurt your wrist or fingers, rest up. Don't push it.
First Aid
We highly recommend taking a wilderness first aid course. It will walk you through how to evacuate someone with a spine or head injury, treat shock, splint musculoskeletal injury, and treat heat and cold injury, recognize sings of chest pain, and anaphylaxis.
Carry a small first aid kit with a written pamphlet that explains what to do in these common situations.
