Stick Clip

A stick clip can be used to clip the first bolt on a sport climb from the ground. This increases safety because the climber is on a top-rope until they pass the first bolt, instead of bouldering (without a crash pad).

1. Thread the rope through the quickdraw so the climber side comes out (be careful not to back clip). The climber should tie in at this time.
2. Push the other end of the quickdraw into the stick clip and use it to hold the gate open.
3. Reach up and hook the open end of the carabiner through the first bolt.
