Toprope Anchor Access

Walking to the top of a climb to set up a toprope is exposed. If the anchor is not easily accessible, you will want to rappel down to it from an intermediate anchor instead of risking your life scrambling around at the top of the cliff.

Set up an intermediate anchor on a tree or other anchor that is easily accessible from walking to the top. In the following photos we use an upper anchor to rappel down to a lower anchor to set up a toprope on it. Finally we rappel to the ground.
